Useful for your trip
- Tip
- Upon arrival in Jordan, you will be given a PCR test which must be paid in advance. Also check that you have a valid Jordan Pass.
- Avoid
- Drones are not allowed to enter Jordan. They will be confiscated at passport control.
- Tip
- Jordanian coins have no familiar numbers on them. Look for small English footnotes to identify denominations (1 dinar = 100 piasters).
- Transport
- Traffic rules are poorly observed. Cars won't stop until you boldly step into the road. Exercise extreme caution when crossing streets.
- Save money
- Buy a Jordan Pass - a single ticket combining a visa and entry to 40+ attractions. Much more profitable than buying separate tickets.
- Save money
- Gasoline costs approximately 110 rubles per liter for 92nd grade. Consider fuel consumption when renting a car.
- Avoid
- Alcohol is very expensive in Jordan. Russian vodka costs about 3500 rubles per bottle.
- Transport
- In smaller towns east of Amman, English disappears and many people don't speak it. Be prepared to point at what you want or use gestures.
- Where to stay
- Hotels near Dead Sea (Kempinski, Marriot, Movenpick) cost about 10,000 rubles per night and offer clean, comfortable beaches.
- Avoid
- Free beaches at Dead Sea are very dirty with broken bottles, glasses, and garbage. It's better to pay for a hotel beach.
- Tip
- Dead Sea is 317 grams of salt per liter - extremely salty. After swimming, you need to shower immediately to rinse off the salt.
- Food
- Try Knafe at local markets - a sweet made from Kadif vermicelli and goat cheese. Very sweet dessert.
